A Schedule for Seniors Wanting a Vibrant Retirement
Funky dance moves and live concerts at Lendlease Retirement Villages had seniors of Berwick up and active through 2018; the year ahead promises an even more active lifestyle.
“Last year saw village calendars at our two Berwick over 55’s communities complete with new hobbies, competitive sports and evenings to remember,” said Lendlease Retirement Living General Manager (VIC), Steve Howarth.
“Residents enjoyed activities ranging from U3A classes to craft clubs, indoor bowls to exploration outings - and the schedule for 2019 is already looking lively at Fiddlers Green and Woodlands Park.”
The person behind the fun at Fiddlers Green is Assistant Village Manager Sharlene Hennop, who works with residents to create a monthly calendar that’s jam packed with activities and events, both inside the village and in the local area.
“Sharlene constantly has her eyes and ears open for new and exciting activities that are taking place outside the village, and then works with the residents to incorporate them into village life,” Mr Howarth said.
“She spends a lot of time talking to residents and discovering what they like.”
Residents have shown enthusiastic support for Sharlene’s initiatives and her continued focus on finding and implementing new activities and events both inside and outside the village.
Both Lendlease villages in Berwick are centrally located to local amenities available at Berwick village, the train station and the medical precinct.“A lot of our residents previously lived locally to our two Berwick over 55’s communities, so the locations of our villages are perfect to maintain their lifestyle, while adding some of the best features that retirement living offers,” said Mr Howarth.
With activities constantly changing and evolving, residents are actively involved and able to get the most out of village life, ensuring a vibrant retirement.
