APT Engineering Cleans up at Casey Business Awards

THE BERWICK-BASED BUSINESS ALSO TOOK OUT THE INNOVATION CATEGORY AWARD FOR THEIR ADVANCED MANUFACTURING INITIATIVE

The accolades were handed out over a gala dinner at Bunjil Place, Narre Warren’s vibrant entertainment hub. The Business of the Year award was determined by a range of compounding factors, over which the four judges deliberated carefully.

Said the judges: “The winner of this category demonstrated exceptional performance as a business across many aspects that are highly valued by the City of Casey. These include contributing locally, sustainably and being an accessible organisation. With a sound business model and deep investment in excellence, their contribution in their field extends state-wide, nationally and with strong capabilities to extend internationally. Proudly remaining in Casey this expertise will continue to benefit our region as they grow and contribute to knowledge in their field.”

APT Managing Director Richard Weinzierl credits his team with the business’ ongoing success: “We are so proud of our amazing team of people at APT, whose hard work has driven our success. And for our valued business partners and the government for their support.”

WORLD CLASS INNOVATION IN BERWICK

Specialising in high precision manufacturing, APT have become one of the top 5% industry leaders in Australia’s advanced manufacturing sector. Daily operations include the precision manufacturing of metal components and instruments for defence, aerospace, security, transport and medical industries.

The Innovation Category Award was presented to honour APT’s Advanced Manufacturing Initiative, which involved the implementation and accreditation of the highly recognised quality standard AS9100 (Aviation, Space and Defence). This has improved APT’s processes and quality system to world standards. Following more than a year of Covid-19 lockdowns and global uncertainty, this is a particularly impressive achievement.

CONTRIBUTING TO THE CASEY COMMUNITY

Since launching in 1992, APT has been proud to do business in the City of Casey and has deep roots in the local community.

Employees are encouraged to participate in community charity events like Run for the Kids, and the business has sponsored many local sporting clubs and a soup kitchen over the years.

Local jobs are also a major contributor. APT is currently training four apprentices who are building valuable skills for the future. There is also a focus on spending locally; anything from event catering to material supplies. “We use local suppliers and most of our employees are local to the area. They are very highly skilled”, adds Richard proudly.

It’s hard to gauge the positive impact a business like APT can have on the community. However, as their reputation extends state-wide, nationally and even globally, it can only mean good things for the region.

APT would like to congratulate all the deserving category winners including Powerplant Project Services, Blairlogie Living and Learning Inc and Berwick Dental Studio.
