Experiences
You can enjoy a variety of experiences depending on your interests and need for social interaction. Residents are offered a range of social activities and it is up to you if you want to participate.
Residents can experience line dancing, happy hours, pool tournaments, bingo, high teas, welcome lunches, listening to authors talking about their books, fashion shows, market days, the Spring Racing engagement and then there is the solitude of the library. These are just a sample of the large range of activities that have been made available to residents.
Our resident Manager Anne and Assistant Manager Sharyn, work hard to ensure your stay at Evergreen is enjoyable. Lifelong friendships have been established and when things may not look good or you wish to share some joy, your fellow residents are there.
COVID-19 has been a struggle for all particularly due the lockdown in Victoria. Anne and Sharyn, the managers at Evergreen took it upon themselves to bring some joy to the residents. Initially it was a resident dressing up in a variety of costumes to take the rubbish bins out that brought a smile to the people at Evergreen. This experience was viewed by people from different parts of the world.
Then it was the care packages delivered to all the residents. They were a small gesture, but it brought some pleasure to all the recipients. Each care package featured the quote: “Grant me serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference”.
During this time residents also participated in a photograph competition where they had to feature something in their Villa or a picture from their Villa. This competition resulted in an amazing number of ways of taking in the experiences of being confined during Covid.
Enjoy Evergreen.
