GRIFFIN AND MORRIS VILLAGE BUTCHERS ARE A BESPOKE BUTCHER LOCATED ON MAIN STREET BERWICK. KERR GRIFFIN AND STEVE MORRIS ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT USING HIGH QUALITY INGREDIENTS WHERE YOU REALLY CAN TASTE THE DIFFERENCE.
This is due to the fact that they are extremely selective on where their products are sourced and how they are prepared. The service is also impeccable, with knowledgeable staff who are always ready to help and answer any questions you may have.
All their beef, lamb and chicken are free range and the beef is grass feed HGPF from Farm Assured sources. This gives their customers the assurance that the farms that produce these products are held up to a high standard of Food Safety, Quality, Animal Welfare and Traceability.
Kerr has been butchering for over 40 years and has spent many of those years also managing supply to 180 restaurants while working in the food service industry. This has served him well as the butchery not only serves individuals and local cafes but also quality restaurants in the Mornington Peninsula and Red Hill districts, delivering daily to these destinations.
Kerr first meet Steve when he employed him as his apprentice butcher at Fountain Gate Shopping Centre after that they both moved into foodservice in Dandenong. Steve then went on to own his own butchery on Main Street Berwick for 12 years until 3 years ago when Kerr and Steve decided to join forces in partnership to create Griffin and Morris Village Butchers. They are now “doing it their way” in so many ways.
Diversity is what makes this butchery different. A one stop shop drawing customers from all over Melbourne, including Williamstown and Philip Island. Kerr and Steve both have a keen interested in watching the market and offering a different experience for their customers – “A destination food shop.”
If you are struggling for time, and in keeping with Kerr’s and Steve’s passion for quality and good food, Griffin and Morris Village Butchery have a quality chef on site to create the best “ready to heat meals’’. From lasagna, to slow cooked shanks. As well as Italian meatballs and curries, there is now no excuse not to provide your family with a scrumptious meal every night.
This modern, well laid out butchery has even more. When you walk in, you will be greeted with not only a smile but also find that you can pick up your milk, butter, eggs, cheese and a selection of artisan breads including Ciabatta and Sour Dough from Noisette – a high quality traditional bakery. And on Friday and Saturday there is an even larger artisan selection to choose from. Perfect for creating that party platter with a difference.
This modern, well laid out butchery has even more. When you walk in, you will be greeted with not only a smile but also find that you can pick up your milk, butter, eggs, cheese and a selection of artisan breads including Ciabatta and Sour Dough from Noisette – a high quality traditional bakery.
But it doesn’t stop there. They also offer small goods such as ham, bacon, chorizo and cabana which are all made in the Berwick shop by their onsite chef. A perfect addition to that bespoke platter for your party guests.
Recently they have also added a selection of aromatic and unique rubs created by Steak Maestro, who is the executive head chef of the Steak Ministry in Glen Waverley. These rubs are made from spices carefully chosen from local suppliers and smell absolutely divine. They are a delightful addition to the Sher Wagyu the butchery sells. This beef is rated as a MS9 (marble score 9) and sells as scotch, porter house, rib eye and briskets. Ideal for all steak connoisseurs.
Their products also stand out with numerous awards. In 2018 their ham won a Silver Medal and their smoked chicken won a Gold in the Royal Melbourne Show. In 2019 their Bacon won Second Prize in the Australian Porkmark Bacon Awards in Victoria and their smoked salmon won gold.
Griffin and Morris Village Butchers are also a family affair with Kerr’s 2 daughters working in the business, along with Steve’s father who runs the deliveries daily.
