Phil began his career at the age of 15 and has been baking up a storm ever since. The Berwick store is his fifth business and, he says, is his favourite venture yet. Twelve years on from opening their doors, it’s clear that the community agrees. Phil says the recipe to his success lies in the quality of the service and products the store provides and maintaining a professional image.

As lockdown continues to impact businesses around Victoria, Phil has met the challenges head on. In addition to their usual takeaway service, the store has also begun offering local delivery. Phil’s main goal as he steers the business through uncertain times is to continue to employ all his staff, and to help the community.

Phil’s Pies and Pastries offer a range of over 20 different single and family-sized pies and savoury items, as well as custom cakes, and even homemade chutneys and jams. Party packs of frozen pies and sausage rolls make a fantastic option for events such as the footy Grand Final. All products are cooked on-site. Phil is proud to use Gippsland Jersey milk and butter products in his baked goods, and also stocks these for purchase in his store.
